Sweet Moments Under the Texas Sun: Watermelon Backyard Mommy and Me Photoshoot
I have been looking forward to capturing Kaylee Jane's love for watermelon all summer long.. though waited for the first overcast day and NOT 100 degree day Texas would give us this year. IT TOOK 3 MONTHS!
We have had the hottest summer here in North Texas. 100-107 everyday. I joke with my east coast friends and family, "when it's 90 degrees, we call that a cold front;-)"
We miss our long park days, our time outside we spent over the spring. Summer it has just been miserably hot.
So this photoshoot has been on the back burner all summer long.
One day after work I could feel a little change in weather.. even if just a moment of clouds and overcast.. let's go!
I scrambled to gather a few items PLUS the watermelon that has been sitting in my garage waiting to be cut open for weeks!
It's go time!
Summer is a season of laughter, bonding, and making memories. What better way to capture these precious moments than with a delightful Watermelon Backyard Mommy and Me Photoshoot?
In this blog post, I'll take you through the heartwarming journey of a fun-filled day, celebrating the joy of motherhood and the sweetness of summer.
Setting the Stage:
The backdrop for our enchanting photoshoot was a sun-kissed backyard transformed into a vibrant oasis of greenery. Sliced Watermelon were scattered around.
The stage was set for a scene full of laughter, love, and capturing genuine moments between Kaylee Jane and me.
Outfits that POP!
Coordinating outfits played a key role in adding a touch of magic to the photoshoot. Kaylee Jane and I wore a preview of spring 2024's Kaylee Jane Lane Baby Boutique pink overalls. The outfits were chosen not only for their style but also for their comfort, allowing for natural movement and interaction. I cannot wait to share these outfits for you to add to your spring wardrobe so stay tuned!
Playful Moments and Sweet Snack Break:
The heart of the photoshoot was the interactive watermelon eating session. Kaylee Jane and I giggled as we ate our yummy juicy watermelon. Ah, the sweet taste of summertime.
Capturing authentic moments and embracing Playfulness:
My husband helped me set up our set in the backyard, I had a tripod handy but didn't need it. I had a backup broll camera (my iphone) set up to capture the behind the scenes.
We captured candid moments that showed Kaylee's little eyes lighting up as we spent time eating watermelon and laughing.
One of the highlights of the photoshoot was the watermelon splashing in a metal bucket I love to use for photo shoots.
Conclusion:
The Watermelon Backyard Mommy and Me Photoshoot not only captured the fun and laughter of Kaylee Jane and I but also embodied the sweet memories that will be cherished for years to come.
The Watermelon Backyard Mommy and Me Photoshoot was a delightful journey of love, playfulness, and connection. Through vibrant decor, coordinated outfits, interactive activities, and candid moments, this photoshoot beautifully encapsulated the joy that comes from spending quality time with loved ones during the sunny days of summer. It's a reminder that the simplest moments often hold the most profound beauty.
